The Teaching Cycle
It is very
essential for teachers to know about the Teaching Cycle. There are four steps
to apply the Teaching Cycle. The first is Building Knowledge of the Field
(BKoF). Brainstorming activity should be conducted prior to the lesson by
teachers. The second is Modelling of the Texts (MoT). Some related examples
ought to be given by educators, so the students can easily understand what they
have learnt. The third is Joint Construction of the Texts (JCoT). Students are
asked to answer modest questions and examples about the given examples.
Teachers explore their students’ papers through asking them to present theirs to
other students in front of the classroom. The final step is Independence
Construction of the Texts (ICoT). Teachers ask their students to do the
exercise to measure their understanding of learnt topics. The educators correct
their students’ answers or papers. The results should be discussed by students afterward.
All teachers are able to do those things, aren’t they?
