Writing for Teenage Magazines

Website Summary   by:rgiyer
ª

The writing potential is huge and still growing.  Not least as its audience, seems to get younger and younger.  Titles Impressive trip to London lake, although catering for girls of 10 to 13 – are especially teenage titles.
And many older magazines, such as Just 17 have readers, who are reasonably younger than the editor’s slated largest audience, all eagerly devoting material meant for their older sisters.
This is good news as it means your pool of potential readers is much wider, you have more choice in the range of topics you can tackle, and there will always be a healthy crop of weeklies and monthlies to which you can submit work.
But the “inspirational” nature of teenage magazines, weher young girls read older magazines to make themselves feel more grown up, offers its own dangers too.
