Take this morning when I entered a cafe and found that there was more than one language spoken in that
cafe as one waitress was speaking English and another was speaking Italian so I was at pains to deal with
both languages simultaneously.
But try the bus journey into town and in a stage whisper the passenger behind me is a man and he is speaking into his mobile phone in Polish and every other passenger is chatting in English, so as a result I am silenced by them all.
Or when visiting Europe its important to take a phrase book and a dictionary providing you have a big bag and a strong back to carry the additional weight as well as personal luggage. When in Arrivals make sure you can
access the materials quickly even if people are impatient it stops the block on foreign languages and besides its a good idea to learn the phrases in a phrase book of foreign languages before you go abroad and also check out
pronunciations also as one can be way out in terms of what the correct pronunciations are.
Take the word ONE! US tends to pronounce ONE as WAN so it can print up like that so as a Language Teacher I gave examples of
ONE is figure 1 ....
ONE is the same as WON meaning : SM Thompson has WON Poetry Wales 97
and then there is Roman Numerals as follows:

so make sure you choose a pronunciation scheme that everyone shares to avoid silly errors:
